My Involvement

Right now with I’m based in Harrisburg, PA and we are pioneering a YWAM DTS training school called Fire and Fragrance.

The heart behind Fire and Fragrance is to see the prayer movement and the missions movement joined together in order to see fruitfulness in the nations. Many times people or group will focus on the power of prayer and the need for intercession and night and day prayer and living lives of deep communion with God (such as the International House of Prayer– www.ihop.org or 24-7 prayer, or the Burn 24-7) which is the first commandment and is very important, but at times can neglect soul and or mercy ministries (second commandment of loving others). And often times in the Missions movement there is an emphasis on fulfilling the Great Commission and going and doing and doing some more and loving other–which is also biblical and very much needed.

The heart behind the Fire and Fragrance school is to raise people up who put the first commandment first (loving God, worship, prayer, getting filled with the Word and God’s love) and then doing the Second commandment (loving others, helping the poor, praying for the sick, fulfilling the great commission what have you). Because we know from 1 John that if we say we love God with out loving others we are liars and don’t love God–and we also know that if we don’t abide in the vine (John 15) then we aren’t in Christ and all our service is done in our own strength and won’t bear any fruit.

That is a snapshot of our heart and DNA, if you will, as a school and community of people.

The Fire and Fragrance school was first run in Kona Hawaii (which was the DTS that I did) and now we are planting a school here in Harrisburg that has on outreach focus on the Ivy League Universities. Right now statistic say that 4% of my generation in the western world believe in or follow Christ. This is staggering. We also know the out of 2,474 universities in America, the 8 Ivy League schools produce 49% of our next leaders, and that 9 out of 10 of these students have no regular Christian influence in their lives. This is also staggering with out mentioning the impact that these university have internationally and the amount of students from other nations who will one day be the leaders of their home nation. If we can touch students of the Ivy Leagues with the Gospel of Jesus Christ then we will impact the future king, presidents, prime ministers, legislators, judges, etc. of many nations, leading (please Jesus) to societal transformation.

My specific roll that I am playing out here in Harrisburg in helping give leadership to the Prayer Room (we spend 2 hours in worship and intercession every day) and to help coordinate 24 hour prayer events/meeting with in the local community and local Churches in Harrisburg through the Burn 24-7 (a prayer ministry that organizes 24 hour worship events across denominational lines with the heart and purpose of bringing the body of Christ into unity through praying and worship with the sole agenda of pouring our love out on God just because he is worthy).

That is aah what I do . . . :) I hope it wasn’t too lengthy.
